Thank you to the Friends of Appleford for the commemorative Coronation mugs which Mrs Filkins presented each child during our Coronation Celebration Assembly. The whole school enjoyed forming the shape of a crown.
The Year 9 and 10 BTEC Sport groups were invited to attend a session on wheelchair basketball led by Nova Sports and Coaching. The session was a brilliant introduction to this excellent sport and the students thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They picked up the skills quickly and took to the game with great enthusiasm.

Pupils from Appleford visited Swindon Town FC for a training session and tour of the stadium. The coaches at Swindon were impressed not only with the boys’ effort and ability, but also commented on how polite, friendly and respectful they were.

Head of Learning Support, Mrs Mitchell, wins the national Silver Pearson Award for her outstanding commitment to the pupils at Appleford. Mrs Mitchell has now been shortlisted for the Gold Award, to be announced during the Autumn Term.
