What a fabulous day we had for Old Applefordians’ Day. The sun shone, the Silver Band played, and parents and pupils, past and present, all enjoyed a wonderful day.

Coronation Celebrations
Thank you to the Friends of Appleford for the commemorative Coronation mugs which Mrs Filkins presented each child during our Coronation Celebration Assembly. The whole school enjoyed forming the shape of a crown.
World Book Day & Library Opening
As part of our World Book Day Celebrations, we officially opened our new Library in the Shepherd’s Hut. It is great to have all our books in one place, creating a cosy environment in which to curl up with a good book.
ISI – Appleford is Excellent
We are delighted to announce that the ISI have deemed Appleford School, yet again, as Excellent. The Passing of Queen Elizabeth II
The thoughts and prayers of all the Appleford Community are with His Majesty The King, the Queen Consort, and all the Royal Family as we mourn the loss of Her Majesty The Queen.
Speech Day 2022
This year at Speech Day we said goodbye to Mr King as Headmaster of Appleford (remaining as the School Development Adviser), and welcomed Mrs Filkins (current Head of Pastoral Care) to the position of Headmistress in September. Year 8 Activity Week
Year 8 had a fantastic few days in the sun, and rain, exploring around Swanage, including beach trips, cliff walks, Corfe Castle and fish and chips by the sea.
Silver Award for Excellence in Special Needs Education
Head of Learning Support, Mrs Mitchell, wins the national Silver Pearson Award for her outstanding commitment to the pupils at Appleford. Mrs Mitchell has now been shortlisted for the Gold Award, to be announced during the Autumn Term.
