No Pens Day

During Dyslexia Awareness Week, pupils from Appleford School took part in No Pens Day. This is a national speaking and listening event organised by the Communication Trust. The purpose of No Pens Day is to enable teachers to give students the opportunity to develop their communication skills by encouraging speaking and listening as methods by which students can support their own learning.

This is no new concept at Appleford. It is the norm for the teachers to provide innovative lessons, not only concentrating on speaking and listening in ways that engage and enthuse students, but also in using different methods of teaching and learning.
