05/06/13 – Topping Out Ceremony

On Friday 5 July, Appleford School held a Topping Out ceremony to celebrate the last beam being placed at the top of a newly erected building in the school grounds. Appleford is a specialist school for pupils with Dyslexia and Specific Learning Difficulties such as Dyspraxia and Dyscalculia. The Independent School Inspectorate have judged the school to be ‘Excellent’ in all areas and due to increased growth in the school, a new first rate building block, constructed by Rigg Construction (Southern) Ltd has been built with four new classrooms, a dedicated Home Economics room and an ICT suite. Upstairs will include twelve boarding spaces, all ensuite, Common Room and Houseparent’s flat. The Headmaster David King joined the builders at the top of the building to raise the school flag.
