Appleford was recently inspected by Ofsted and received the top grade ‘Outstanding’ in four key areas for its Boarding.

Headmaster, Mr David King said “We are all delighted with the report which recognises that our students’ excellent outcomes are a result of the school’s relentless commitment to enabling every pupil to achieve their potential”.

The areas of the inspection judged to be ‘Outstanding’ by the inspectors were: the overall effectiveness of boarding; the outcomes for residential pupils; the quality of boarding provision and pastoral care; the leadership and management of the residential provision.

The inspectors felt that “the pupils make exceptional progress from their starting point in all aspects of their lives. This is especially true of the increase in pupils’ self-esteem, self-confidence and social skills. Excellent relationships exist between the staff and pupils. These are based on respect and trust. These relationships are the foundation for the excellent work the staff undertake with the pupils.”
