Boarders told inspectors that their boarding experience is good”
Maddington House is the junior boarding house for girls and boys in School Year 3 to Year 8, where pupils socialise and enjoy activities together in a secure and friendly environment. There is a strong sense of camaraderie amongst the pupils fostered by Houseparents Mr and Mrs Wedd and their team of boarding assistants.
The property is situated in the local village with its own private walled garden and the children are transported to and from the main building by school minibus. The girls’ and boys’ accommodation is on separate floors and Mr and Mrs Wedd, the Houseparents, both live in the boarding house.
Dormitory life is carefully planned to provide the structure and consistency and the children are encouraged to add a personal touch to their rooms with posters, photographs and an abundance of teddy bears! Every week the best dormitory receives points and at the end of the year there is an overall winning dorm and a much coveted prize.
Mr and Mrs Wedd, along with other experienced and caring boarding staff make sure every effort is made to create a home-like atmosphere. They provide the emotional support that every pupil needs and help the pupils to develop a strong set of values and good manners.
