Appleford Ltd is an innovative and highly successful provider of education and care for children and young adults with special educational needs and disabilities. We have invested in two provisions, Appleford School; an independent day and boarding school near Salisbury in Wiltshire and Daneswood Care Home; a care home for young adults near Shipham in Somerset.
The Group Finance Manager will be expected to produce termly directors’ packs and monthly management accounts, provide monthly forecast, oversee the annual audit, monitor and be expected to provide regular briefings on Appleford Ltd’s financial performance. The successful applicant will be directly accountable to the Proprietor and will meet regularly with the managers of both locations to present reports as required and to provide quality financial advice.
It is anticipated that this position will operate primarily from our Shipham site in Somerset.
The successful applicant will also be responsible for the small finance team in both locations who are responsible for the daily finance.

The role requires a qualified accountant with a good track record of relevant practical experience, who is a member of a recognised accountancy professional body.
Management accountancy qualification
Strong financial and accounting skills ensuring the timely production of month-end accounts, forecasting and budgeting
Good working knowledge of sage accounting and payroll packages (or similar packages)
Proficient in MS Office, in particular MS Excel, and databases
Experience of working to deadlines
Strong team management skills and experience
Experience of holding a similar post within education or care sector would be a bonus
