Appleford School is a specialist day and boarding school for pupils aged 7-18 with dyslexia and associated learning needs, set in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside in the village of Shrewton, just off the A303. Our ethos is to build children’s confidence through continuous support and celebration of success. Rated ‘Excellent’ by ISI in all categories, the school has been providing the highest quality teaching for pupils with dyslexia for over 30 years.

KS2 Teacher

To start in September 2019

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic and inspirational teacher to join the lower school.

The successful applicant will be an outstanding teacher joining a strong and supportive department.

Appleford welcomes applications from both NQTs and experienced teachers.

Appleford has well-resourced and supported small classes of up to 9 delightful pupils and an ethos based on developing confidence, celebrating success and continuous support – for both pupils and staff.  More importantly, we instil a belief in our children that dyslexia is no barrier to learning and we expect them to do well. GCSE attainment for our pupils regularly exceeds national mainstream averages.

We can offer a salary package in excess of MPS, a high level of CPD and opportunities for career progression, outstanding ICT facilities in every class, bright modern classrooms set in idyllic surroundings and 150 delightful, motivated children who enjoy their learning.

Experience of working with SpLD pupils is an advantage, but not essential as full training will be provided.

Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking to appoint an LSA to work with the upper school class teacher to support the pupils.

Applicants should have Maths and English GCSE with basic computer skills.
